Poll Shows Majority of Virginians Support Medical Marijuana Legalization

Marijuana is buzzing in Virginia. Quinnipiac University phoned 1,115 Virginia voters regarding several topics, with one being marijuana. The state is making strides in the right direction, at least as far as the voters are concerned. All votes were taken using a live telephone calls and not a recording.

Republicans in Virginia show the most resistance to legal marijuana, according to WTKR 3 News. In fact, 60-percent of Virginia Republicans polled oppose legal marijuana. Speaking overall within the state, however, the results show that 59-percent of those polled do support legal recreational marijuana.

When it comes to medical marijuana, the numbers are completely different. 92-percent of those polled support medical marijuana. They support doctors prescribing/recommending medical marijuana for patients.
